Resort Information
Set against a stunning mountain backdrop and surrounded by verdant forests, Bled is an enchanting oasis. Its crystal blue lake and fairytale castle create an atmosphere of true wonder. Swimming, fishing and boat rides are available on the lake. The resort also offers a good range of other activities, including walking, horse riding, tennis and golf as well as being an excellent base for sightseeing, with natural delights such as the Julian Alps within easy distance. Sample the delicious 'Kreme Schnitte', or cake slices available in many of the lakeside cafés, as you stroll around the beautiful shore.

· bars · cafés · restaurants · shops · bank · doctor · pharmacy Festivals & Events - In the summer months there are numerous events, ranging from village festivals to religious holidays in the Bled area. The spectacular display of thousands of egg shell candles on the lake in the 'Rikli's festival' (held on the 3rd weekend in July) is unmissable. Also, throughout July the Bled International Music Festival is held.
Getting About
There is a bus service to Kranjska Gora (45 minutes) and Bohinj (45 minutes). Boat trips can also be taken on the lake. The train services from Bled (Lesce station) are excellent.
Strollers
To stroll around the lake is an absolute must and takes an enjoyable 2 hours. The nearby Vintgar Gorge is one of the most beautiful walks in the country.
Ramblers
The surrounding pretty villages such as Selo and Zasip make for very interesting walks. Try the higher routes to the summer farms, or follow 'Rikkli's trail'.
